XNet Router Setup for Wireless
X-Net NAT Router Setup for MegaPass Broadband Wireless Connection
- Follow the set up instructions on the NAT router manual - Getting started
- Go to the web page at 192.168.2.1 and choose Quick Set Up
- Change the time zone to Auckland/Wellington > Apply
- Broadband type > Fixed-IP xDSL
IP address assigned by ISP: ____. ____. ____. ____
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255. ____
DNS Address: 202.169.212.2
Service Provider Gateway Address: ____. ____. ____. ____
(Gateway ¡V same range as the given IP address, except last number is different)
- Click OK
- Click on the top right corner HOME > General Set Up
- On the left hand panel, choose Nat > Enable UPnP > Apply> OK (normally disable for commercial use)
- Choose Firewall > Enable > Apply
Choose Firewall > Dos > tick: Ping of Death, Port Scan, Sync Flood
Then click on Apply > Ok
- Click on the top right corner HOME > General Set Up
- You are recommended to change the admin password of your router.
General Set Up > System > Password > type your old & new password > Apply. (write password below)
- Choose LAN and if you need a different local IP range, then set the IP address:
IP address ____. ____. ____. ____
(will become the gateway on all local computers).
Set local computer IP addresses in the same range, eg ____. ____. ____. xxx
Set the router's DHCP setting to be .100 to .200 > Apply > then update setting following step 13.
- The router setting has been completed.
- Follow the Computer Network Setting for your computers.
Computer Network Setting
For Windows 95/ 98/ 98SE/ ME
- Go to Control Panel > Network
- Double click on TCP/IP for your network card (Ethernet adapter)
For Windows NT/ 2000/ XP
- Go to Control Panel > Network Connection
- Right Click on Local Area Network, then select properties
- Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
For single PC only, without router
Use following IP setting provided by WorldNet in your computer that connects directly to MegaPass.
- IP address: Use the IP address provided (from Router Setting 4. above)
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.xxx (from Router Setting 4. above)
- Default gateway: Gateway address provided (from Router Setting 4. above)
- Primary DNS server: 202.169.212.2
- Alternate DNS server: 202.169.206.10
For several PCs (connected with Broadband Router)
All networked computers can either set network IP addresses automatically need to restart, or use the following setting: (Note - for automatic setting, remember the router must be on and connected before starting computers)
- IP address:
1st computer 192.168.2.2
2nd computer 192.168.2.3
3nd computer 192.168.2.4
(or same local address range as the router in 9. above, eg ____ . ____ . ____ . xxx )
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default gateway: 192.168.2.1 (or the router's local IP address from Router Setting 9. above)
