Solutions
- Make sure Outlook Express is configured correctly
- Emails or attachment should not be too large otherwise it can cause the connection to time out
- Check your antivirus programme for subscription expiration
- Check your firewall programme
Follow these steps for troubleshooting instructions
- Make sure Outlook Express is configured correctly
- Open Outlook Express, go to Tools > Accounts
- Under Mail, double-click to open up the account
- Select the Server tab, make sure the following is set correctly:
Incoming sever address: pop3.world-net.co.nz
Outgoing server address: smtp.world-net.co.nz
- Emails or attachments should not be too large which can cause the connection to time out
- If you are sending large attachment, make sure the file is not too large, or if you are receiving, you have to go to WorldNet website by logging in to WebMail to manage the message instead.
- Check your anti-virus programme for subscription expiration
- Check your anti-virus programme. If expired, you will have to renew your subscription if you decided to keep using it.
- Check your firewall programme
- Make sure your firewall programme for example ZoneAlarm did not disable auto-protect and email scanning application; "ccApp.exe" that is required by anti-virus programme such as Norton AntiVirus.
If you are still having problem, you may have to uninstall and reinstall Outlook Express as it may corrupted. Go to Microsoft Help & Support web site for Outlook Express reinstallation instruction.
