Follow each of these steps below to perform the tests. You may print those results and fax to us or copy the results and send to us via the online form provided. Please include the actual date and time of the tests.

Bandwidth Metre

The Bandwidth Metre speed test will check the bandwidth of your Internet connection against broadband and other Internet services.

Please close all programs that are currently running on your computer and turn off all downloads before executing this test. To check the speed of you connection, simply click on the appropriate test button to continue:

Tracert

1. Go to your MS-DOS window:
   
   Start > Run, then type in "command" or "cmd" to get into the MS-DOS window
   
   
2. In the MS-DOS window, type the following line:
   
   tracert www.yahoo.com
   
   
3. Hit "Enter" or the "Return" key, and the following information will show up:
   
   

   Max Ave Min IP
             1 <xx ms <xx ms <xx ms xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
             2 <xx ms <xx ms <xx ms xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
             3 <xx ms <xx ms <xx ms xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
             4 <xx ms <xx ms <xx ms xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
   		  

   Try to tracert other web addresses e.g. www.yahoo.com, ideally from local websites and websites from different countries.

Ping

1. Go to MS-DOS Prompt as in the last test, type the following line:
   
   ping www.yahoo.com
   
   
2. and hit "Return" or "Enter" key.
3. Try with other web addresses.

          c:\>tracert www.yahoo.com >> c:\result.txt
