If you run into any issues, our support team is available 7 days a week.

What you’ll need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • ✅ Your WorldNet router (supplied or compatible model)
  • ✅ Power adapter
  • ✅ Ethernet cable (included in box)
  • ✅ Your WorldNet account login details
  • ✅ ONT / modem installed (for Fibre connections)

Step-by-step setup

Step 1 — Connect the power

Plug your router into a power outlet and turn it on.
Wait 2 minutes for it to fully boot up.

Step 2 — Connect to your modem/ONT

Use the ethernet cable to connect your router’s
WAN port to your ONT or modem.

Step 3 — Connect to Wi-Fi

On your device, search for available Wi-Fi networks.
Find your router’s network name (SSID) — usually
printed on the label underneath your router.
Enter the default password (also on the label).

Step 4 — Check your connection

Open a browser and visit: speedtest.worldnet.co.nz
If you can load the page, you’re connected!

Step 5 — Change your Wi-Fi name and password

Log into your router settings:
→ Open browser → Type 192.168.1.1
→ Username: admin / Password: admin (default)
→ Go to Wireless Settings
→ Update your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password
→ Save and reconnect your devices

Connection types

🔵 Fibre (UFB)
Your router connects to the ONT (white box on wall).
Use the ethernet cable from ONT LAN port → Router WAN port.

🟡 Wireless Broadband (4G/5G)
Your router connects directly to the WorldNet network.
No ONT required — just power on and connect.

🔴 Hyperfibre
Same as Fibre setup but uses a different ONT.
Contact WorldNet if unsure about your ONT model.
