Warning on Rising Spam Threats From WorldNet

Online scams and phishing attempts are becoming more common across New Zealand. Fraudsters often impersonate trusted companies and attempt to collect sensitive customer information through fake emails, links, and invoices.

WorldNet encourages customers to verify billing information only through official channels and avoid opening suspicious attachments or clicking unknown links. Customers should always confirm communication authenticity before providing personal information online.

The WorldNet emphasises:

Do not click on suspicious links or follow unverified instructions. Fraudsters often attempt to trick users into opening fake invoice files or disclosing personal information.

If customers are ever uncertain about an invoice sent by WorldNet, they are encouraged to verify it directly through the official e-Bill website:

  1. Go to www.worldnet.co.nz
  2. Click “MY ACCOUNT” at the top right-hand corner
  3. Use your customer ID as your username

By logging in this way, customers can safely confirm their billing information without risk of exposure to fraudulent files.

WorldNet reminds all users that legitimate communications will always direct customers to official channels. If in doubt, customers should avoid opening attachments, clicking on links, or providing personal information until they have confirmed authenticity.

For assistance or to report suspicious activity, customers can contact WorldNet Support at help@worldnet.co.nz or call 0800 89 1001 / 09 880 1001.

WorldNet concludes:
“Your online safety is our priority. Please stay alert and protect yourself from potential scams.”
