Service Changes
Plan Changes
How can I change my WorldNet broadband plan?
Contact WorldNet with your Customer ID and the plan you would like to change to. We’ll check availability and let you know the next steps.
If you have a preferred date for the change, please let us know when you contact us.
When will my new broadband plan take effect?
When requesting a plan change, please provide your Customer ID, the plan you would like and your preferred change date.
We’ll confirm the effective date once the change has been arranged. Some plan changes may depend on network or equipment requirements.
You can submit your request through our support ticket page.
Will I need different equipment when I change my plan?
This depends on your current connection, the plan you choose and the equipment you use. Not every plan change requires a new router.
When requesting a plan change, let us know your router model. We can check whether your current equipment is suitable and whether any additional work is required.
Please wait for confirmation before purchasing new equipment.
Moving House
How early should I arrange my broadband move?
Please get in touch as soon as you know your new address and moving date. This gives us time to check what is available at the new property and whether installation work is needed.
Provide your preferred connection date at the new address and disconnection date at the old address. Please do not assume they will be the same.
We’ll confirm the connection arrangements with you. If your moving date changes, please let us know as soon as possible.
What equipment should I take when I move house?
Leave the ONT (fibre box) and its power supply at the property. The ONT belongs with that address and should not be taken to your new home.
You can take your own router, its power supply and Ethernet cables with you. If any equipment was provided on a loan or rental basis, please check with WorldNet before moving it.
What should I do if I am moving to a new address?
Contact WorldNet with your current address, new address, the date you would like service to start at the new property, and the date you would like service to stop at your current property.
We’ll check the connection requirements at your new address and let you know the next steps. Please do not move the ONT from your current property.
Add Services & Extras
Can I keep my existing home phone number when joining WorldNet?
Yes. You can usually keep your existing home phone number when joining WorldNet. Let us know that you would like to keep your number when arranging the service.
We may ask for your current phone number, provider, account holder name and account number to arrange the transfer. Please do not cancel your existing phone service before the number transfer is completed, as this may affect the transfer.
Can I manage an additional service under my existing account?
Include your existing Customer ID when requesting another service and let us know that you would prefer to manage it under the same account.
The account and billing arrangements need to be confirmed for your request. Please do not assume a new connection will automatically be added to your current account.
If the new service is for a different person or business, mention this in the ticket so we can advise you on the appropriate setup.
Does WorldNet use CG-NAT, and is a public IP the same as a static IP?
WorldNet provides a public IP address and does not use CG-NAT. A public IP is not necessarily the same as a static IP — a static IP remains fixed, while a public IP may change.
If you need a static IP for remote access, hosting, VPNs or other applications, contact WorldNet Support to check availability for your service.
How do I add a home phone service?
To add a home phone service, please submit a support ticket with your Customer ID.
Home phone service costs $10 per month, plus a one-time $25 setup fee.
If you want to transfer an existing number, please do not cancel your current phone service until the transfer has been completed.
How do I add broadband at another address?
Please submit a support ticket with your Customer ID, the full address you would like to connect, your preferred start date and the type of service you need.
Please let us know that this is an additional connection and that your current service should remain active.
We’ll check availability at the new address and confirm the next steps.
How do I request a static IP address?
Please submit a support ticket with your Customer ID and the service address where you need a static IP. If you have more than one connection, tell us which one the request is for.
A static IP costs an additional $10 per month.
Cancellations
Can I cancel one service and keep my other services?
Please submit a support ticket with your Customer ID and let us know which service you would like to cancel, including the service address or phone number where applicable.
Please also confirm which services you would like to keep. For example, you may want to cancel a home phone service while keeping broadband, or cancel one connection while keeping other services on your account.
We will confirm any changes to your remaining services, charges and applicable notice period before processing the cancellation.
How do I cancel my WorldNet service, and how much notice is needed?
To cancel your WorldNet service, contact us with your Customer ID, the service you would like to cancel and your preferred disconnection date. A 30-day notice period applies from the date we receive your cancellation request.
If you are on a fixed-term contract, an early termination fee may apply. If you are moving to another provider, please make sure the transfer is completed before your WorldNet service is disconnected.
