What's PBX?

  • A PBX (private branch exchange) is a telephone system within an company/office that switches calls between office users on local lines while allowing all users to share a certain number of external phone lines. The main purpose of a PBX is to save the cost of requiring a line for each user to the telephone company's central office.
  • It’s not handy to install a new system and modify/adjust the existing wiring/configuration of phone system.
  • Can't trust the voice quality of VoIP? Don't worry about that any more. WorldNet can guarantee stable voice line service with a dedicated connection.
  • All kinds of features such as assignment extension numbers, call forwarding, designing call flow, IVR, voicemail, etc. can be easily supported via WorldNet Internet connection.
  • Do you want to keep your existing number? Do you want to apply for a new number easy to remember? Do you want to use a toll free number?
  • All you need are phones.

What's the difference between Virtual PBX and Traditional PBX?

Traditional PBX - Analog

A traditional PBX system consists of a "Phone Box", which is in essence a computer that is set up to manage your office telecommunications, several phones (each with its own extension), phone lines connecting the Phone Box to the outside world and interoffice cabling connecting the phones to the phone box.

  • Traditional PBX is a "Phone Box" in your home/office. So, it's hard to interlock it with the phones in other places such as branches.
  • It’s not handy to install a new system and modify/adjust the existing wiring/configuration of phone system.
  • Most PBX require complicated configuration for certain features like voicemail so you will need to purchase each function.

Virtual PBX - VoIP

This is a cost effective alternative to a traditional PBX system for most businesses. The only equipment you have to buy is the phones, which are significantly less expensive than phones for a traditional PBX system.

  • Furthermore, VoIP lines are significantly cheaper than analog lines, and you don't have to pay exorbitant installation fees from the phone company.
  • You can design your virtual phone box with WorldNet and plug your phones into the internet.

Call Management and Maintenance With a traditional phone system you are required to buy a "Phone Box". Traditional phone systems require professional maintenance and a technician is required for service updates. A virtual PBX system can be managed remotely by WorldNet. Easy call management, tracking and recording can be supported. Also, you can easily modify your call flow and call procedure such as when reorganizing your office structure, add/remove your office part, etc.
Installation A traditional phone system requires technical installation, which can be costly as well as time consuming. VPBX connection will be established from WorldNet remotely. After remote installation, all you need to do is simply plug the phone into your internet connection and it will be ready to use.
Business Expension To expand the capabilities of a standard phone system you have to physically add hardware or expansions to the hardware you currently own. You have the freedom to add/remove extensions and all works can be supported remotely. Virtual PBX services allow you to manage voicemail, voice prompts, extensions & call management wherever the internet is available. This allows you to easily scale the system with your business.
Feature Management Some features (i.e. voicemail) can be accessed remotely by calling into the voicemail system. However, to access most features you must plug directly into the "phone box". Furthermore, most changes require professional assistance. Virtual PBX services allow you to manage voicemail, voice prompts, extensions & call management wherever the Internet is available
Phone Lines With a traditional phone system you are required to buy a "Phone Box". Traditional phone systems require professional maintenance and a technician is required for service updates. Calling rate of VoIP is much cheaper than that of landline.
